THE AMERICANS ON BOARD

Most of those on board are from the United States. This is one of the reasons I have saved their introductions to last. It's really been a monumental task as a tour guide director to keep up with all them. About the time I know how many we have from the U.S., some new ones join the group or decide they can't handle the volume of email coming from OneList and choose to go home.

Even as I introduce the Americans, I am frustrated knowing I will miss mentioning someone on board. Frankly, we have some on board now that I am not sure what their names are or the state of their origin. This is because some have joined OneList without entering their names. All I have is an email address.

Therefore, I have chosen to introduce those from the U.S. who have sent something to OneList. In other words, they are those whom you have heard from if you have been enrolled in OneList since its inception. While I introduce the branch they represent, I may also mention others on board from the same branch. But I know someone may be overlooked, and I apologize in advance. As much as I like OneList, it has become more challenging for me to keep up with those on board as I could in the past.

The Americans are divided into two groups. 1. Those who can identify their roots as coming from a known county in England, and 2. Those who trace their lineage to someone in America (can't identify their European county of origin). In the last issue, we identified those from group one. Now, our attention will be focused on those in group two.

THE VIRGINIANS ON BOARD

Most of those in group two trace their lineage back to the state of VIRGINIA. These include all those in the SOUTH CAROLINA BRANCH. Those in this branch who have sent information over OneList include BOBBYE WINSTON, BRENDA STARR, BRANT BONER, MICHAEL CARDINELL and Yours Truly (JOHN H. PEACH). Some other South Carolinians on the tour are BEN COUCH and WILLIAM LABRECHE.

These all descend from JOHN PEACH b.1755 or 1759, believed to be from Virginia. I wrote a book on this branch, THE PEACH TREE HANDBOOK, VOL.1, SO. CAROLINA BRANCH. BOBBY WINSTON of Alabama also wrote a masterful book on the So.Carolina Branch called, PEACH KITH 'N KIN. This is already in its second edition, updated in 1996 - making its information quite current. We are excited about having Bobbye on board. She has offered to refer to her book if you have any questions about your So.Carolina heritage. Just send any inquiries to Peach@Onelist.com. Her book is also available to purchase.

BRENDA STARR also lives in Alabama. She sent her family history to OneList on Oct.17. Check that if you want to find out more about her background. MICHAEL CARDINELL lives in Mississippi. His wife, Yvonne, is a descendant of the So. Carolina Branch. He sent their family info. to OneList on Oct.23. His wife's genealogy is traced by Bobbye in her book all the way back to the original John Peach. BRANT BONER traces his lineage through Tennessee, a descendant of Reuben Peach. His ancestry is shown on OneList on Oct.9. My book traces his lineage step by step back to the original John.

JANET WOODCOCK of No.Carolina and SHARON WOODCOCK of Kentucky both trace their ancestry back through the KENTUCKY BRANCH to Virginia. Their common ancestor was DANIEL PEACH, who married Elizabeth Gibson. They were from Upperville, VA. in the late 18th century. Janet and Sharon both shared their ancestry on Oct.17. (I hope you are keeping these OneList submittals in your files to access in times like these.) If my memory serves me correctly, these are the only Kentuckians aboard.

CONNIE MINCY is from the Kansas Branch, whose common ancestor is CHARLES PEACH of Virginia, who married Rebecca. Both were born in the late 18th century. She sent her extensive genealogy on Oct.20, 22 and 24.

We have those with us on tour who trace their lineage to a PEACHEY or PEACHY in Virginia. These include ROBERT DUGGAN, Jr., W.F.HARTNETT, NANCY FITZGERALD, Dr. WILLIAM S. PEACHY and his family, Dr. NEAL PEACHEY.

WILLIAM S. PEACHY is in Saudi Arabia with most of his family. If you remember, he is the one who lit a fire under us to start submitting our family background to OneList. This has helped us all get to know one another better during the past month of our trip.

NANCY FITZGERALD shared with us recently on Oct.25. The others shared their info. with me in the past, but I can't find where they have shared on OneList. If any of these have, please let me know on what date it was shared. If not, those on board would love to hear from you and from all those who descend from the Peachey/Peachy ancestors in Virginia.

This concludes those who have sent to OneList from Virginia. If there are any additions to this, please let me know, and I will include them on the next Peach Tree. I will continue introducing the Americans aboard in my next newsletter.
